Ed was born and raised on the east coast, spending his early years in the Boston area involved with sports, technical engineering pursuits and riding his first bike, a 1980 Honda CB500 Four. He graduated from UMass with a degree in Audio Engineering, and immediately began putting his education to use as a sound engineer for a local Boston rock band. He’s also worked as a sound man for Deep Purple and as Tour Manager for Diana Krall. Ed is currently employed as a general foreman for Rosendin Electric in San Jose, CA, and enjoys rock climbing, scuba diving, golf and music.
Ed began his amateur roadracing career with the AFM in 2003, and is currently a Tech Inspector for the club as well as a novice racer. The AFM was where he met John Fosgate, and the connection between Ed’s audio expertise and John’s commentating ability was catalyzed by an ad that John placed on the AFM bulletin board seeking someone with knowledge in mixing and producing ‘live’ event audio to audit and upgrade the sound system at Infineon Raceway. Ed responded to the ad and the rest is history.

Ed’s role with N3 Productions includes working with track engineers to check audio levels in garages, paddock, & grandstands; assisting the Media Coordinator with scheduling rider interviews in the paddock, pre-grid & tower; working with track media representatives to produce last minute announcements, and pre-recording sponsor announcements & copy/advertisements before the event. He also acts as a spotter for John during practice, qualifying & race events and keeps statistics, as well as responding to all off-line track requirements from marketing, promotions and event administration.

To guarantee optimum audio production of any sanctioned event series, it will require a commercial grade, wireless microphone/repeater system, as well as a dual head queue-able compact disc player.
